Do you have a minimum?: Yes. For full event flowers (a wedding party, reception decor, setup and breakdown), our minimum is $3500 including all taxes and fees (flower order about $2700). Our average client spends $4000-$8000 on wedding flowers.

If you have a smaller budget and just want personals (bouquets, boutonnieres, flower crowns), or flowers for a smaller event, our overall event minimum is $950.

While everyone sees pricing differently, if you’re wondering this, let’s tackle it head on. A few reasons…

1) Flowers and plants are grown and transported to Chicago from both local producers and growers around the world. The cultivation, care and transport of plants and cut flowers in 2024 is costly and has increased 20%+ in the last few years.

2) Our pricing reflects our 8 years of experience as a florist and event creator of hundreds of events.

3) We are a small business and take care to pay our employees and contractors fair wages for work in a large city.

4) Beyond sharing our why on pricing, know that behind every event is typically many days of hours of work for our team, between purchasing, pickup, processing (we cut and prepare every stem before even designing), designing, day of loading and installation, and cleaning every vessel, candle and bucket post event.

5) We use generally luxury flowers that cost more than grocery store flowers. As a a small business, we also don't have the buying power of large chain retailers, so our base costs can be the same as a grocery store, and then we add labor.

6) My first floral teacher used to say, when you hire a wedding florist, you're paying for every flower to be perfect (or as perfect as we can get to). Naturally, we over-buy a bit, so you are paying for more than you see on your day (so what you see is gorgeous)!.

For each wedding we quote, I spend 1-2 hours preparing a proposal. I’ve found it’s helpful to first meet to get a sense of what you’re looking for and know you’re really interested in our style and services. We source our flowers from a variety of resources:

1. A distributor. Especially for events November to April, we source from a local wholesale distributor who sources flowers locally and all over the world.

2. We grow our own. There is a small Leelee’s Garden (my actual garden), where I grow my own cut flowers. If our growing season aligns with your event, and our flowers align with your look, you’ll find our fresh grown dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, smoke bush (my favorite!) and other flowers mixed in with your wedding flowers.

3. Locally grown flowers. We work with several farms to source local blooms in the midwest growing season. If this is important to you, please let us know and we can do as much local sourcing as possible.

Regarding sustainability, we are committed to continuously improving our impact on the planet. Steps we’ve taken so far are eliminating as much as possible the use of floral foam, which leads to microplastic waste, and reusing all of our hard goods and materials. We also dry for future use as many flowers as we can.

Since we do not have a shop open to the public, at this point we do not take one-off floral orders (i.e. we buy for events and don't keep floral stock on hand).
